Opportunities to Support Students at Ignite Institute with Mock Interviews & Judging

From Amanda Dempsey, College Coordinator:

I do a mock interview assignment with my seniors each year, and I’m looking for volunteers to help interview them and give them feedback on their answers.  These take place Dec 17th & 18th.

Mock interviews are scheduled in 30-minute time slots.  During this time, you will use interview questions provided by Ignite to work with two scholars.  Participants will have 15 minutes to coach and provide feedback to each scholar.  This real-world interaction with area professionals is one way we are committed to preparing our scholars for future college and workplace interviews.

For more information, please check out our promotional flier.

To sign up for a time, please book here.

Thanks for all you do to support Ignite!

From Jessica Isaacs, Design Teacher

A major part of the curriculum at the Ignite Institute is the Year Long Projects, where students focus on conducting in-depth research on a chosen topic and propose an idea that would help solve a problem in that area of study. My Design students have been working on some really cool project ideas over the last few months and will be presenting these ideas (science fair style) to industry partners, business owners and public visitors on the evenings of December 16, 17, and 18th.

I have been tasked with finding several volunteer “Judges” who would be willing to attend any or all of those evenings to see what these students are presenting, provide some feedback, and enjoy a complementary dinner on us.

Would anyone be interested in seeing Ignite and what the students have been working on?
