Florence, Kentucky – March 22, 2021 – The Rotary Club of Florence held a meeting on Monday, March 22, 2021, with Mike Franxman from I.T Supply Solutions (ITSS) presenting about the services they provide along with how they have been helping the community and organizations. I.T. Supply Solutions have a zero-landfill policy. The company has received R2 certification, of which there are only 900 companies worldwide with this certification. ITSS is a major electronics recycler in the Northern Kentucky area, meaning they will take old technology that is not used anymore and either flip it to sell again or recycle it. Seeing as everyone desires to have the latest version of a phone or the two-in-one tablet that has endless possibilities, the old electronics often are is just sitting in a basement collecting dust, The items can be turned in to I.T Supply Solutions where they are either flipped or recycled, rather than piling up in a landfill.

At the beginning of the pandemic, ITSS received a call from the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky requesting for their business to remain open in order to help other organizations through the trying times. Due to COVID, many company employees were asked to work virtually from home or have a hybrid of virtual and in-person work arrangements, regardless many employees needed some electronic equipment to accomplish their duties.

I.T. Supply Solutions prioritizes supporting the community. During the pandemic, the company was contacted by a staffing agency that was in need of computer setups for nursing students. These students were just a credit or two short of completing their certificates. ITSS provided the computer stations so that 70 or so nursing students could complete their nursing or nurse aid certifications, enabling them to work in the hospitals on the front line to battle COVID even sooner. After the computers were no longer needed by the students, they were wiped clean and sold again. They have helped schools, by providing computers and laptops as well as selling/ recycling outdated ones. After the old laptops/computers are sold and recycled the school is provided with the proceeds. ITSS has been working on scheduling more community clean-ups and will be partnering with the Rotary Club of Florence this summer for a clean-up.

Mike shared that recently a police officer from Independence came into their building to share with them that the Independence Police Department was trying to set up a K-9 unit The cost for the unit was $79,000, so Mike pitched the idea of organizing a community clean up. On May

15th businesses, schools, and residents can bring equipment to the clean-up location ITSS will try to resell the equipment. The company will then match the proceeds raised to give towards the K-9 unit.

I.T. Supply Solutions is a great resource for many companies and different types of customers. They do so much to help the community, schools, and businesses during this pandemic, whether that be supplying materials or assisting with fundraisers or community clean-ups. To learn more about I.T.
