Polio Plus Day. Rotary is Winning and We Make a Difference.

Written By:  Tim Herrmann, Rotary Club of Florence

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, October 23, 2023 at noon as we hear Rotary club member Greg Palmer, President at Palmer Capital Management, Inc., sharing information about “Polio Plus Day.”

Rotary International has been fighting polio since 1979, with our efforts to vaccinate 6 million children in the Philippines. In 1985, Rotary International launched PolioPlus, the first and largest internationally coordinated private-sector support of a public health initiative, with an initial fundraising target of US$120 million. With an estimated 350,000 cases of polio internationally, in 1985 Rotary International and the World Health Organization launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

Greg Palmer has been with the Rotary Club of Florence since 2002, having previously served as president and is currently District Governor Nominee for District 6740.

Guests are always welcome to join, meet members and learn about the club.
