Tara Johnson-Noem of NKADD Joins Rotary Club of Florence

Northern Kentucky Area Development District (@NKADD) or as it is often referred to as NKADD is a quasi-governmental nonprofit organization serving eight counties in the fields of Aging and Disability Services, Community Development, Public Administration and Workforce Development. With a budget of $24M and 85 internal staff, the agency touches the lives of individuals and serves employers, local 
governments and special districts.
Tara Johnson-Noem (@TaraNoem) assumed the role of Executive Director of the Northern Kentucky Area Development District in August 2022. She manages a team of approximately 85 staff, and an annual budget over $24 million comprised of local, state and federal grants and contracts. Prior to becoming executive director of NKADD, Tara served as NKADD Associate Director for Workforce Development and Director of the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board from 2020 – 2022.
Prior to rejoining NKADD in January 2020, Johnson-Noem was the Director of Government Relations for United Way of Greater Cincinnati where she led public policy advocacy funding and advocacy-based volunteer engagement efforts in Kentucky and Ohio. She has also worked in community and economic development roles for the Catalytic Fund, Vision 2015, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED (now BE-NKY) and the NKADD’s public administration division earlier in her career. Tara started her career in marketing and communications, working both for a Fortune 500 corporation and for a boutique agency.
Ms. Johnson-Noem is an active volunteer in scouting in the Dan Beard Council. She received scouting’s Trailblazer District Award of Merit in 2022. She was recognized in 2018 by the Cincinnati Business Courier with a Forty under 40 award. She holds a Master’s degree in Community Planning (MCP) from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor’s degree from Centre College in International Relations and Spanish. She lives in Fort Mitchell with her husband Shane and their three children.
Ms. Johnson-Noem will be sharing the impact of the Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) with the Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary) on Monday, August 21, 2023. Through the work of this organization they are helping to Create Hope in the World.
