The mission, process, and history of the Northern Kentucky CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will be the topic of discussion as presented by Executive Director Colleen Maier to the Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary).

The Northern Kentucky CASA recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children within Boone and Gallatin County. CASA volunteers do their own investigation, get to know each child, and write reports directly to the judge with recommendations for what’s in the child’s best interests. These volunteers continue to support and advocate for the children until they are in a safe and loving home.

Colleen Maier has been the Executive Director of Boone County CASA since April of 2006 and is responsible for the overall management of the agency, as well as all aspects of the agency’s operations. Colleen has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and worked with Child Protective Services and the Foster Care System in Ohio and Kentucky for 6 years prior to working for CASA.

Guests are always welcome to join and we would love to have new club members!
