United We Learn & Reimagining Education in Kentucky

Dr. Jason Glass (KYCommishGlass), Kentucky’s Commissioner of Education will be sharing about the great strides Kentucky is making for reimagining education by bringing all stakeholders – parents, educators, students, business and community leaders together. When Dr. Glass first returned to Kentucky, he held a listening tour to learn what Kentuckians’ hopes and dreams were for their children. Out of that grew the United We Learn (@UnitedWeLearnKY) Plan. 
Along with the United We Learn Plan, the Kentucky Department of Education (@KyDeptofEd) working alongside Lt Governor Jacqueline Colman (@LtGovColeman) and Council for Post Secondary Education President, Dr. Aaron Thompson (@CPE_Pres) have been spearheading the Commonwealth Education Continuum (@CEC_KY) which brings the entire education pipeline from cradle to career into one blended system of support for students and families. Our own Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary) member, Julie Pile (@juliepile) serves on the Early Post-Secondary Options workgroup as a parent voice.
From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Glass served as a district superintendent with Jeffco Public Schools and Eagle County Schools in Colorado. Dr. Glass was Iowa’s chief state school officer from 2010-2013. He has also served as Senior Director of Human Capital Strategy with Battelle for Kids in Ohio, served in several district leadership roles including human resources and assessment in Colorado, held a leadership role in an early childhood education nonprofit in Denver, and held several posts with the Colorado Department of Education. Dr. Glass worked as a university instructor and high school teacher in Kentucky.
