Florence Rotary Names Mike Crane to Heritage Hall of Fame

On February 27th Michael Crane became the latest inductee into the Florence Rotary Hall of Fame. Mike joins twelve previous Rotarians selected for that unique honor. Mike was one of the early members of the Florence Rotary Club, is a past President and current board member. He currently serves as team leader for the Community Service Team of Florence Rotary.

Florence Rotary established the Heritage Hall of Fame to pay tribute to Rotarians that have gone above and beyond in service to the club and to the community. Members of the Hall of Fame provide a living history of the club and serve as a guiding cadre for future endeavors.

Mike Crane is a lifelong resident of Boone County. Along with his wife and daughter he is an avid horseman, showing and breeding American Saddlebred horses. He has served on the Boone County Fair Board, is an avid supporter of 4H and the Sale of Champions at the Fair. Mike is a Cooper High School FFA Advisor, and was named Conner High School FFA Sponsor of the Year for 2009-10 and 2010-11.

Mike is the President of Michael L. Crane Insurance Inc. and has been an agency manager for Kentucky Farm Bureau since 1979. Mike is the current president of the Historic Burlington Business Association and Secretary/Treasurer of the Boone County Farm Bureau.

Mike was joined at the induction ceremony by his wife Beth, friends and colleagues from his office and fellow Rotarians. He was praised as a teacher, mentor, leader and trusted advisor. Mike is known as a man who has continuously given of his time, his energy and his considerable talents to help in building a better community. His name will be added to Heritage Hall of Fame members: Reverend Bob Carter, Joe Claxon, William Conrad, Gilby Greene, Roy Lutes, William P. McEvoy, Carroll Cropper, Gary Griesser, Willard Rusk, Dennis P. McEvoy, Herbert R. Booth and Gary Stewart. Mike is the 13th and newest member of the Heritage Hall of Fame. We congratulate Mike on his selection, and wish him all the best in the years to come.
