Written By: Tim Herrmann, Rotary Club of Florence
The Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary) is pleased to announce their 2024 Teacher of the Year Award winners. These exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled Boone County teachers received their recognition based on the nominations of colleagues, students and parents and according to an exacting set of standards.
“The Rotary Club of Florence is privileged to honor four outstanding teachers as our Teacher of the Year, “ said Barb Keeling, Rotary Teacher of the Year Selection Committee Chair. “We are very lucky to have these teachers so committed to the students in our community as they teach and guide them.”
This year’s award recipients are:
- Emily Addington, St. Paul School (@stpaulflorence)
- Heather Bloemer, Ryle High School (@Ryle_HS)
- Tasha Lovins, Ryle High School (@Ryle_HS)
- Nick Milar, Walton/Verona Middle School (@WVMSPrincipal)
All four of the recipients exemplify the “Service Above Self” standard in his or her professional and community environment, inspiring students to engage and learn, while playing active and valuable roles in their communities. The effusive praise for these educational exemplars leaps off the pages of their nomination forms, with some of the most common descriptors including “devotion,” “dedication,” “selfless/unselfish,” “students before self,” “pleasure to work with,” “communicator” and “tireless.”
The recipients will be celebrated at the Club’s meeting to be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, starting at 11:45 am at the Florence Nature Park Event Center, 7200 Nature Park Dr, Florence, KY. If you plan to attend the event, we are expecting a large crowd, so please help us plan for seating and food by RSVPing at: https://tinyurl.com/rcofky-rsvp.
