The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields: Where Everyone Gets a Chance to Play

Executive Director of The Joe Nuxhall Foundation (@NuxhallMiracle), Tyler Bradshaw (@tybradshaw), will be speaking to the Rotary Club of Florence (@FlorenceRotary) on Monday, May 8, 2023, about the miraculous story of Joe Nuxhall’s legacy that inspired a community to dream big for the special needs community.
Tyler Bradshaw joined The Nuxhall Foundation as its inaugural Executive Director in June of 2021. Mr. Bradshaw, along with their committed Board of Directors, provide leadership for all facets of The Nuxhall Foundation, including The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, The Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund, and The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship. Bradshaw is also a sports announcer in the Greater Cincinnati community, having served as the Voice of the Hamilton Joes for nine years. Tyler earned his Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Miami University, and is currently a doctoral candidate studying Organizational Leadership and Crisis Management. He is married to the love of his life, Paige, and they live in Mason with their two sons, Jackson and Nolan.
The idea of a local baseball facility just for people with challenges originated with Reds Hall of Fame pitcher and announcer Joe Nuxhall. While Joe didn’t live to see the reality of the fields, his dedication and passion for the cause was inherited by his son Kim, who managed to instill that same passion in a lot of people. That passion led Kim to form a group of like-minded people that could make the dream of a “Miracle League” baseball park a reality. In 2010 they set out to do just that.
It is the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields goal to provide accessible and inclusive baseball fields and recreational opportunities with a big-league-level gameday environment for athletes with special abilities of all ages, giving them the opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of sport in a safe and impeccably maintained facility.
The Rotary Club of Florence is thrilled to be invited to be volunteers at the games to be held on Saturday, May 13th in the morning. If any of the public would like to join the club members in cheering on the athletes, please reach out to the club for information at info@florencerotary.org.
