On Monday, January 13th , the Rotary Club of Florence will be learning about the important work of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence from Executive Director Brigitte Blom-Ramsey.
The Prichard Committee started in 1983 encompasses many initiatives to move education forward in Kentucky from educating and advocating policy makers, to empowering parents to become leaders through the Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership (CIPL) and encourage students to elevate their voices in education through the Student Voice Team.
Analyzing student outcome data for Kentucky students which has been trending backwards recently, The Prichard Committee is asking the legislature this year to invest $1 billion dollars in public education by 2026. #BigBoldAsk But the Prichard Committee knows it takes more than money and educators to bring our education system to the top. It takes everyone, hence the #GroundswellKY Initiative has been born.
Guests are always welcome.
