Join the Rotary Club of Florence on Monday, March 15, 2021 at noon for a special offsite meeting as we hear from Mark Looy and Ken Ham (@aigkenham), Co-Founders of Answers in Genesis (AiG), Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Ken and Mark will be giving the club an update on the activities as AiG.
Ken Ham is the president of AiG. Since moving to America from Australia in 1987, he has become a very in-demand Christian conference speakers and talk show guests. Ham gained international popularity after his 2014 debate with Bill Nye. He is heard daily on his radio feature Answers with Ken Ham that is broadcast on more than 950 stations. Ken is also the founder of award-winning Answers magazine.
Ham received a bachelor’s degree in applied science from the Queensland Institute of Technology in Australia. He also has a diploma of education from the University of Queensland.
Mark Looy is the Vice President of Outreach and Chief Communications Officer for AiG. He handles their media requests, event organizing, and marketing. Looy also oversees more than 250 Bible-upholding conferences organized by the ministry each year. As CCO, he interfaces with local and national media, booking speaking and media engagements for AiG.
Born in Australia, Looy has lived in four different countries. He earned bachelor and master degrees in history from San Diego State University. He also did postgraduate work in Scotland under a full Rotary Scholarship (1983-1984). Looy has completed several doctorate-level courses in education at Alliant University near San Diego.

Please remember to park in Lot B (“tour bus” parking), bypassing the ticket booth in Lot A—thus not paying for parking or for a museum ticket. Walk inside the museum to Noah’s Café, just off the main hall. (Nobody will ask you for a ticket if you are entering via Lot B.) In Noah’s Café, pick up your food (hot food on the left; sandwiches, salads and desserts on the right) – the original $12.95 price will not apply because this will not be a hot, plated lunch now (due to current state restrictions on dining). Then make the very short walk to the enclosed heated patio (to the right) where we’ll eat and hear the co-founders, Ken Ham and Mark Looy. At 12:30 we’ll move to the nearby planetarium.
