Join Florence Rotary Club to Hear Jarred Payne’s Triumph Over Brain Injury and the Mission of the Brain Injury Alliance of Northern Kentucky

Written By:  Tim Herrmann, Lloyd Memorial High School

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, September 23, 2024, at noon to hear Jarred Payne, secretary of the Brain Injury Alliance of Northern KY (@Braininjurynky), as he presents on the mission of BIANK and how the Alliance directly affected his life.

Jarred is a CFP with an MBA from Xavier University. One morning in 2018, he woke up unable to control his body. He couldn’t walk, balance, or talk clearly. He was taken to the hospital, diagnosed with a brain infection which led to a brain injury, and it would be months before he would see his home again. Since then, Jarred has worked hard at recovery and living independently. He started a YouTube channel to talk about recovery, and he volunteers at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He sits on the Advisory Board for the Kentucky TBI Trust Fund and on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Alliance of NKY, where he serves as an officer on the Executive Committee.

The Brain Injury Alliance of Northern Kentucky (BIANK) is a valuable statewide resource instrumental in promoting awareness, educational programs, support networks, program development, advocacy, and champions public policy and legislative initiatives. All efforts have been aimed at improving the welfare, rights, dignity and lives of individuals with brain injury.  To address needs on a local level, regional chapters of the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky were established in 2014.
