Position Overview:
Are you passionate about communication, marketing, social media, and web development? Are you looking to make a difference in your community while gaining valuable experience? The Rotary Club of Florence is seeking a talented individual(s) to take on the role of Communications, Marketing, Social Media, and Website Coordinator (s). In this unpaid volunteer position, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our club’s online presence and promoting our initiatives.
We are looking for individual(s) with the following skills – can be one or more individuals, we have plenty of great work to share:
- Manage and create engaging content for our social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Maintain and update our website, which is built on WordPress, ensuring it reflects our current projects and events, keeping Google calendar current
- Collaborate with club members to gather content and stories for newsletters, press releases, and website articles.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of our online presence and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, posters, and banners especially for fundraising events.
- Attend club meetings and events to capture photos, videos, and stories for sharing on our digital platforms working with a club member who is a professional videographer. Our meetings are live-streamed to YouTube
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to keep our online presence innovative and effective.
- Prepare weekly pre-press article and follow-up articles, feel free to use ChatGPT to assist you (this job description was created using ChatGPT) along with preparing the Google Slides for each meeting
- Assist in communications to members using DACdb, pre-scheduling communication and keeping calendar up to date
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for community service and the mission of Rotary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and experience managing social media accounts for organizations.
- Familiarity with website development using WordPress.
- Basic graphic design skills and experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently. Work is all remote
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
