Integrating AI Into Your Daily Life

Written By:  Tim Herrmann, Lloyd Memorial High School

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, September 16, 2024, at noon as Dr. Michael Carr (@mrcii), Assistant Professor of Marketing at Thomas More University, walks Rotary members through the daily uses of AI in everyday life. He will discuss how AI has enabled him to become more productive in his personal life, at work, and school and will provide a demonstration on how to effectively use ChatGPT.

Dr. Michael R. Carr II serves as Assistant Professor and Director of the Marketing program at Thomas More University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of the Cumberlands and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. His academic focus includes marketing strategies in entertainment, media, and consumer behavior, with a specialization in AI’s role in marketing and education.

Prior to joining Thomas More, Dr. Carr was an adjunct instructor at the University of Cincinnati, where he taught courses in International Marketing, Advertising Management, and Marketing Strategy. He also has extensive industry experience, having worked as Vice President of Marketing & Advertising in the FinTech sector and as a Marketing Consultant for small businesses in the Cincinnati and Northern KY areas.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Carr is a seasoned musician, known as “One Man Electrical Band” (OMEB). Over the last 20 years, he has opened for legendary acts like KISS, Motley Crue, and STYX, and has worked with artists such as Vinny Appice and Todd Sucherman. His expertise in both marketing and music enables him to offer a dynamic, real-world perspective to his students.

He resides in New Richmond, Ohio, with his fiancée, Sarah, stepdaughter Hayden, and their pet bird ‘Guiseppi Berdi’.

Guests are always welcome to join, meet members and learn about the club.
