Rotary Scholarship Recipients

FLORENCE – The Florence Rotary Club has presented $1,000 college scholarships to six Boone County high school seniors.

The scholarship winners were recognized at a luncheon on Monday, April 27, at the Hilton in Florence. The selections were based on interviews of nominees from each of the high schools by Florence Rotary members.

The scholarships winners are:

Shelby Sammons – Boone County High School – plans to major in special education at Western Kentucky University;

Lacy Gerdes – Conner High School – plans to pursue international studies at Northern Kentucky University;

Mitchell Greenhalgh – Cooper High School – plans to major in Spanish and business management at Brigham Young University;

Ryan Woolf – Ryle High School – plans to play football and major in biology at Georgetown (Ky.) College;

Stephanie Bolin – St. Henry High School – plans to attend the University of Louisville;

Will Compton – Walton-Verona High School – plans to major in Psychology at Eureka (Ill.) College.
