FLORENCE – The Florence Rotary Club has presented $1,000 college scholarships to six Boone County high school seniors.

The scholarship winners were recognized at a luncheon on Monday, April 25, at the Hilton Cincinnati Airport in Florence. The selections were based on interviews of nominees from each of the high schools by Florence Rotary members.

The selections were based on academic achievement and community service in keeping with the Rotary International motto of “Service Above Self.” In addition to excelling in the classroom, the recipients have “wonderful service to the community,” said Barbara Rahn, who led the Scholarship Committee.

The scholarships winners are:

Megan Cantrell – Boone County High School, 3.6 GPA, plans to major in occupational therapy at Eastern Kentucky University;
